The Container House is a self catering establishment situated on the Vaal River outside Parys. Constructed from 6 shipping containers and then cladded with decorative panels, this house offers 5 large bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms, a large kitchen and a huge central entertainment area. The whole house sleeps 40 and is ideal for a large family or group of friends. There is no tv which is deliberate so that visitors are encouraged to enjoy the outdoors. Visitors are welcome to bring games and a table tennis with bats and balls is available. The Vaal River in front of the container house is very shallow and quite deep in various areas. For this reason, Motor boats can not be used on this stretch of the Vaal. There are a number of canoes with oars which can be used but please supply your own life jackets. This area of the river is considered good for fishing and many large Carp, Yellow Fish and Barbel are caught on a regular basis. We encourage catch and release. The container house is constructed from 6 shipping containers and then cladded with decorative cement panels.
