Two cottages are truly wheelchair friendly with level and easy access from car to inside, large roll in shower with grab rails, fold down seat and hand held shower, grab rails and trigger shower next to the toilet and ramp onto front stoep. Prince Albert is a historically significant town which dates back to 1762. In the late 1700's gold was discovered and the Prince Albert experienced a mini gold rush, however the gold mined turned out to be minimal. Prince Albert became a British garrison during the Second Boer War in 1899. Today Prince Albert has a small local population, mainly engaged in farming and tourism. The village has many authentic Cape Dutch, Karoo and Victorian buildings, thirteen of which are National Monuments.
