Rietpoort is a welcoming Merino sheep and game farm situated just 11 km from Trompsburg and approximately 120 km south of Bloemfontein, conveniently located along the N1 route to Cape Town. This peaceful southern Free State retreat offers travellers the opportunity to experience traditional South African farm hospitality while enjoying the wide-open spaces of the countryside.

The farm is also home to a variety of game, including springbok, blesbok, black wildebeest and gemsbok, which guests may spot during their stay. Accommodation is provided in four comfortable self-catering farm cottages, each offering a relaxed and practical base from which to enjoy the surroundings.

Springbok is a cosy garden cottage with one bedroom containing a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, basin and toilet.

Blesbok is a free-standing unit featuring a bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with two single beds, and a bathroom with a shower, basin and toilet.

Gemsbok is another charming garden cottage, offering two bedrooms, each furnished with two single beds, as well as a bathroom with a shower, basin and toilet.

Swartwildebees is situated close to the swimming pool and features an open-plan sleeping area with a queen-size bed and three single beds, together with a private bathroom.

Each cottage is equipped with a kitchenette, safe parking and braai facilities. Television facilities are available in the communal area, while guests can also make use of the communal swimming pool and tennis court.

For those who would rather leave the cooking to someone else, delicious Karoo lamb can be served in the evening on request. Meals are enjoyed in the traditional lapa, adding another touch of authentic Free State farm hospitality to a stay at Rietpoort.
